You can watch it here

What would you do for love? For Joe, an intense young man who frequently becomes smitten with beautiful, smart women, this question is put to the test. A charming yet awkward crush becomes something more sinister when love turns into obsession for Joe. Using social media and the internet, he uses every tool at his disposal to become close to the women of his dreams, even going so far as to remove any obstacle — including people — that stands in his way of getting to them.

The series is a chilling exploration of obsession, love, and the dark side of human nature. With each episode, viewers are drawn deeper into Joe’s twisted world, questioning their own perceptions of right and wrong. The show’s unique narrative style, which often includes Joe’s unsettling inner monologues, adds an extra layer of tension and intrigue. “You” is a gripping psychological thriller that will leave you on the edge of your seat until the very end.

What sets “You” apart is its exploration of modern-day obsession, fueled by social media and technology. Joe’s relentless pursuit of his love interests blurs the lines between affection and manipulation, captivating and disturbing viewers.

The series delves deep into the complexities of human relationships, exposing the fragility of trust and the consequences of unchecked desire. With each twist and turn, the tension builds, keeping audiences gripped and guessing until the shocking finale.

Beyond its gripping plot, “You” raises thought-provoking questions about the nature of identity, privacy, and morality in the digital age. It’s a chilling reminder that behind every picture-perfect facade lies the potential for darkness, and that sometimes the most dangerous threats are the ones closest to us.

At the center is Joe Goldberg, portrayed by Penn Badgley, whose charismatic charm belies his sinister obsession with love interests. Joe is a master manipulator, adept at using social media and surveillance to control the lives of those he desires.

Let’s delve deeper into the characters of You:

1. **Joe Goldberg (Penn Badgley)**: The central character, Joe is a complex blend of charm, intelligence, and chilling obsession. Throughout the series, viewers witness his transformation from a seemingly ordinary bookstore manager to a manipulative stalker willing to do anything to control those he loves.

2. **Guinevere Beck (Elizabeth Lail)**: Beck is an aspiring writer whose vulnerability and ambition attract Joe’s attention. Despite her flaws, she is portrayed as a sympathetic character caught in Joe’s web of deceit and manipulation.

3. **Peach Salinger (Shay Mitchell)**: Beck’s wealthy and controlling friend, Peach, becomes a formidable adversary to Joe. Her own obsession with Beck leads to a tense rivalry with Joe as they both vie for Beck’s affection.

4. **Paco (Luca Padovan)**: Joe’s young neighbor, Paco, serves as a reminder of Joe’s humanity amidst his dark deeds. Their relationship evolves throughout the series, with Joe taking on a quasi-mentor role in Paco’s troubled life.

5. **Dr. Nicky (John Stamos)**: Beck’s therapist, Dr. Nicky, becomes entangled in Joe’s web of deceit when Joe frames him for Beck’s murder. Despite his initial role as a confidant for Beck, Dr. Nicky’s true nature is questioned as Joe’s manipulations come to light.

6. **Love Quinn (Victoria Pedretti)**: Introduced in the second season, Love becomes Joe’s new love interest and a central figure in his life. Like Joe, Love has a dark side, and their relationship becomes increasingly complicated as secrets are revealed.

7. **Forty Quinn (James Scully)**: Love’s charismatic but troubled brother, Forty, adds an unpredictable element to the story. His relationship with Joe is fraught with tension and rivalry, leading to explosive confrontations.

8. **Delilah Alves (Carmela Zumbado)**: A journalist and Joe’s neighbor in the second season, Delilah becomes a key figure in uncovering Joe’s true nature. Her investigation into Joe’s past puts her in danger, ultimately leading to tragic consequences.

9. **Candace Stone (Ambyr Childers)**: Joe’s ex-girlfriend, Candace, resurfaces in the first season, revealing a dark history with Joe. Her presence serves as a constant threat to Joe’s carefully constructed facade, adding suspense and intrigue to the storyline.

As the series progresses, their relationships and conflicts drive the narrative forward, keeping viewers hooked until the very end.

Together, these characters form a compelling ensemble, each with their own flaws, desires, and secrets. Their interactions drive the narrative forward, blurring the lines between victim and perpetrator, hero and villain. As the series unfolds, viewers are left questioning the true nature of each character and the depths they are willing to sink to in the name of love and self-preservation.

The first three seasons are worth watching. After that, the series felt predictable as we know the characters.

But you should definitely watch season 1 If you haven’t watched it yet.
