ZeytinAgaci (Another Self)

I saw a post by a popular life coach who suggested watching this series and I can’t be thankful enough when I watched this.

You can watch it here

What is Another Self about?

Three friends take part in a therapy session in a seaside town and learn to work through unresolved trauma connected to their families’ pasts.

Trauma is hard to heal without proper help. With the right people, you might reach a life where you might not encounter it every day but it is there deep down hidden waiting to be triggered.

I have been on a Journey of self-healing and failed many times but never gave up the search for peace.

This series came into my feed at the right time. It did answer a few questions I was asking. The series is slow and the screenplay is average yet I would recommend this if you are on a path of healing as the content is good.

You will learn something, you will find some answers, or at the least, you will validate the things you already in a much stronger sense.

The original language of the series is Turkish. The pace is slow so I would suggest increasing the speed to 1.25 times if you feel the drag.

It is based on the book It Didn’t Start with You by Mark Wolynn with a mix of Constellation therapy.

The pressing point in this series is about the generational trauma that we carry but blame ourselves on being inefficient to deal with.

How we hold on to grief, pain, and sorrow yet one is functional until one reaches a breaking point where everything feels pointless.

This series addresses the core of the soul which is repeating the destructive patterns of one’s generational trauma.

I wish this series had a remake with some good director and screenplay.

After an extremely 2023, this was one series that helped me believe in my beliefs.

In an era where self-care and mental health awareness are increasingly vital, “Another Self” stands as a beacon of hope for those embarking on their own path to healing. With its profound exploration of generational trauma and the enduring resilience of the human spirit, this series serves as a compelling reminder of the transformative power of self-discovery and emotional authenticity.

Each episode serves as a testament to the resilience of the human spirit, emphasizing the importance of acknowledging and addressing inherited wounds.

It is must must-watch if you are working on emotional healing.
