S is for Swimmers

We all know how important it is to be grateful in life. But to be grateful every day is a powerful habit yet a difficult one to accomplish.

Swimmers is one such movie that moved my core in a powerful and inspiring movie.

How much ignorance I had before watching this movie and how I have consciously changed myself every day to be grateful more.

Wars are always disrupting but Swimmers would tell you that to accept or to change your life is your choice.

What are Swimmers about?

Two Syrian sisters Yusra and Sarah Mardini flee their war-torn home in Damascus and swim for hours in choppy Mediterranean seas to reach Greece as asylum seekers before going on to compete at the Rio Olympic Games.

How war upturns people’s lives and why Yusra and Sarah Mardini’s story is far from over. The sisters Yusra and Sarah Mardini fled Syria as refugees in 2015.

They both swim for hours in the Mediterranean seas due to overcrowding of the boat which cost like an arm and a leg.

There is something more that you will like in this movie. It is the resilience to try to achieve their dream.

As Dieter has quoted once, your reaction to adversity, not adversity itself, determines how your life’s story will develop.

Yusra and Sarah must have read this quote somewhere or they have proved the above quote true by changing their life story through resilience and perseverance.

It is still available on Netflix so don’t miss this one.

In conclusion, you can see the excellent direction, acting, screenplay, editing, and cinematography skills of the Swimmers team in the movies. You feel connected and deeply moved by the characters and the story.

The below age old quote ( like many inspiring ones one must have shared ) will come into reality once you watch this movie.

“Out of suffering have emerged the strongest souls; the most massive characters are seared with scars.” – Khalil Gibran
